    Originally from Wewoka, OK, Allison is a recent graduate of University of Central Oklahoma, completing her BS in Applied Mathematics. In addition to college students, she has tutored several Academy students over the years. She enjoys audiobooks and watching NCIS.

  • Olivia Bates

    midtown & North traditional Math/Science

    Olivia Bates completed a BA in Mathematics from Mid America Christian University and a MA in Mathematics, with an emphasis on Mathematics Education, from the University of Oklahoma. After graduation, she spent a semester traveling to Europe and across the United States. Recently returned to Norman, Olivia enjoys traveling, reading, and making desserts for family and friends.

    North Campus Humanities and Debate

    Andrew Black is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University and Middle Tennessee State University. Born in Indiana, raised in Russia, he now lives in Oklahoma City with his wife, Nicole, and their daughter, Evelyn.

    Anne Bradford graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BA in psychology. She and her husband Mark have eight children. Anne enjoys being a pastor's wife, knitting, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

    Rhea graduated with a BA Honors in Classics from King's College in Halifax and an MA in Classics from Dalhousie University. She also has a BEd from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.

  • Hannah eppling

    South campus drama

    Hannah Eppling graduated from Louisiana State University with a BA in Public Relations, and after pursuing a career in this realm for a few years, felt led to move into teaching of her biggest passion: theater. She adores the stage and encouraging the hearts of her students, and spends her free time with her husband, Stephen and daughter, Colette. 

  • DEVONA HUTSON

    South Campus humanities

    Devona graduated from Southwestern Christian University with a BS in General Studies. She taught Humanities/English for seven years at Claremore Christian School. In a change of pace, she moved to Dubai, UAE where she taught English and managed a zip line. Returning to Oklahoma, she became a legislative assistant for a State Representative. Devona enjoys visiting local coffee shops and is excited to return to the classroom.

    Abbie James graduated from the University of Dallas with a degree in English Literature, and taught high school literature and drama in Dallas for two years. She was born and raised in Texas and prior to moving to Oklahoma City, Abbie directed many shows and musicals at a Texas community theater.

    Alex is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where he majored in History, Math, and minored in Ancient Greek. Alex served as a substitute teacher for Norman Public Schools and is enjoying teaching Humanities, Government/Econ at The Academy.

    Robin graduated from Central State University (now University of Central Oklahoma) with a degree in Secondary Math Education. She and her husband, Rick, have two sons and live in Edmond.

    Allison graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BS in Physical Education. She and her husband Christian have 2 dogs, Samson and Stella and a new baby, Parker. In her free time she enjoys crafting, traveling, and spending time with family.

    Charlotte served six years in the United States Air Force.  After her enlistment,  she completed her Bachelor degree in Science Education at the University of Oklahoma.  She also has a Masters in STEM Curriculum. She and her husband, Chris, have two children.

  • Tony pyles

    Tony Pyles is a PhD candidate in Old Testament at McMaster Divinity College, Hamilton, Ontario, and holds an MDiv from Reformed Theological Seminary and a BA in Linguistics from the University of Oklahoma. When he isn't reading a dead language, he is probably building something in the garage or going to the park with his wife and five children.

    Anne Risch spent two summers teaching English for the Defense University of Mongolia in Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia, before graduating from Oklahoma Baptist University in May 2010. She hopes, one day, to stumble into Narnia.

    Josh earned a BA in Theology at Hillsdale FWB College and an MA in Philosophy from the University of Oklahoma. While he serves as our Lyceum Director, Josh also teaches D&R Theology and Logic courses.

  • jennifer STALL

    SOUTH CAMPUS oral PresENTATION/Debate

    Jennifer earned a BA in Spanish and German from Oklahoma State University and  JD from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. In between her undergraduate and law school experiences, she studied and worked in Austria and later moved to Germany as a Fullbright, where she discovered her love of teaching.

  • Todd Wedel

    Todd earned a BA in English and History from Oklahoma Baptist University and an MA in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Oklahoma. He not only serves as the D&R Principal & Academic Dean, but also enjoys teaching our junior Rhetoric and senior Capstone courses.

    Chism Young is a proud Oklahoma native who graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2014. He and his wife Alia have two dogs, and in his free time he enjoys music, books, games of all kinds.
