    Amy Allen is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri with a BSE in Elementary Education and a MS degree in Education Technology. She comes to The Academy after classically educating her three children at home for eight years. Amy loves to read, garden, and travel. One of her goals is to visit every continent - or at least six of them.

  • Jennifer atwood, nORTH CAMPUS traditional 5th grade

    Jennifer has her BA from Baylor University, with a double-major in Museum Studies and Great Texts of the Western Tradition, minoring in History. She went on to earn an MSt in Medieval Studies from Oxford. She then spent three years as Curator of Medieval Manuscripts for a collection in OKC.

  • Liza baker, north campus blended Pre-kindergarten

    Liza graduated with a BA in Religion from Baylor University. She has worked or OU's Center for Early Childhood Professional Development, specializing in facilitating classes focused on early childhood developmental milestones. Liza and her husband have two boys at The Academy and one toddler boy at home. She loves a good book, a good sale, a good laugh, and a good nap, preferably in that order.

  • stephanie bryan, no traditional 4th grade

    Stephanie graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Elementary Education. After teaching at a Christian school in Tulsa for three years, she moved to Forth Worth and earned her Masters in Christian Education from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary. She has been teaching at a classical Christian school in Fort Worth for the past three years and is beyond excited to be back in the great state of Oklahoma.

  • Lindsay Burress, N blended 3rd Grade

    Lindsay graduated from St. Gregory's University with a BA in Social Studies Education and Fine Arts. She has worked in youth ministry for the past 10 years. She and her husband, Randy, have two children enrolled in The Academy. She loves reading, gardening, and outdoor living.

  • carleigh burroughs, nORTH blended 4th/5th grade

    Carleigh graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2011 with her degree in secondary English education with Cum Laude honors. Previously she taught fourth and fifth grades at Covenant Classical School in Forth Worth. She and her husband are in love with classical Christian education and can't wait for their infant son to join The Academy!

    Charity graduated with a BA in Speech Communications. She has been blessed to spend time working with children overseas and is excited to continue working with the young scholars of The Academy.

    Amanda graduated from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma with a BA in Communications and a minor in French. She spent two and a half years in North Africa but now lives in Washington with her husband and two girls (both Academy students).

    Laura is a graduate of Abilene Christian University where she earned a BS in Psychology.  She has taught at The Academy for several years in various grade levels including PreK, first grade and fifth grade.  Laura and her husband, Trent, have three children who attend The Academy.

    Amy graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  For the past 5 years, Amy has been partnering with the Academy to educate her children in the blended model.   She lives in Tuttle with her husband and their three children.  

  • kim forgue, north CAMPUS blended kindergarten

    Kim graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in Community Health and Sociology. She has worked with children in many different settings for several years. She and her husband Micah live in Mustang and have one son who attends the south blended campus of The Academy.

  • jenny fudickar, nORTH CAMPUS blended 2nd grade

    Jenny earned her BA in Elementary Education from East Central University and an MA of Education in Instructional Media-Library Information from the University of Central Oklahoma. She and her husband, Ben, live in Oklahoma City with their two daughters.

    Ashley graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma where she majored in Fine Arts and minored in Russian History. She enjoys nature, caring for her vegetable garden, and spending time with her husband and two children. Her son and daughter are students at The Academy.

    Jessica graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with her BFA and is now an Adjunct Professor of Ballet at UCO. She has been blessed with the opportunity to work with students of all different age groups and backgrounds and is thrilled to now be with the young scholars at The Academy.

    Gaylee is a graduate of Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, where she earned her BA in Special Education. She also holds a certification in Early Childhood Education, and has been teaching students in a variety of settings over the past 16 years. She and her husband, Michael, have three children. She loves traveling, music, and time spent with family and friends.

    Graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BS in Physical Education. Married to my husband Christian. We have 2 dogs, Samson and Stella. In my free time I enjoy crafting, traveling, and spending time with family.

    After home educating her five children Nancy provided encouragement and mentoring to inner-city students through her work with Character First.  During her twelve year employment as an oil and gas professional she continued to contribute to the OKC community thru an employee tutoring program.  Nancy enjoys traveling but mostly enjoys time spent with her children and grandchildren.

    Darci graduated from the University of Oklahoma and holds an Oklahoma teaching certificate in Art. She and her husband, Jeff, have six children. She is passionate about missions and enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family.

  • CINDY MCCOOK, NORTH CAMPUS blended Pre-K3

    Cindy is a graduate of Oklahoma State University where she earned her MA in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has worked several years in the public school setting as a speech-language pathologist in Fort Worth and College Station, Texas. Cindy and her husband, Clayton, have two daughters.

    Danielle Nusbaum is a graduate from Oklahoma Christian University with BA in Psychology. She has two children and a wonderful husband. She loves working with younger children, traveling, baking, and ballroom dancing.

    Jessica is a graduate of the University of Arkansas where she earned a BS in elementary education and her MA in Teaching.  She and her husband, Brent, have one daughter and two sons at The Academy.  Jessica loves traveling, running, her sweet family, and a good book.

    Pat graduated from UCO with a Master's degree in Reading Education and has taught for twenty-five years in a variety of elementary settings. She loves flower gardening, piano and reading. She and her husband, Bob, have six wonderful grandchildren.

    Tina earned her BA from Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College. She and her husband, Russell, have two married children and one grandson. She enjoys photography, quilting, reading, and serving with the 1040i ministry in Ivory Coast, West Africa.

    Becky is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where she earned her BA in Early Childhood education. She has taught various ages and in a number of different settings over the past 10 years. She lives in Norman with her son.

    Kimberly earned her Bachelors in English, with minors in Religion and Business. She loves working with students and leading them in physical education or athletics.


  • Twila Rhoring, SOUTH CAMPUS  blended prekindergarten

    Twila Rohring earned her degree from the University of Oklahoma. She is certified in both Early Childhood Education and secondary level Home Economics Education. She has her National Board Certification in Early Childhood. She has taught both Pre-K and Kindergarten retiring from public school education in 2015 after 20 years of service. She and her "giving tree" husband, Dan are blessed with 3 wonderful adult children, Zack, Tyler and Morgan, a fantastic son-in-law, Daniel, a sweetheart daughter-in-law, Holly and one angel granddaughter, Madelyn.

  • andrea roe, north campus blended 3rd grade

    Andrea graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Nutrition. Realizing her passion for ministry she then attended the Kanakuk Institute, a year long discipleship program, that partnered with John Brown University where she received a Masters of Ministry- Youth & Family.  She has worked with children in many different settings for several years, and is excited to continue that at the Academy. She and her husband Bobby live in Edmond and have two boys. 

  • tana Schuermann, south campus blended 2nd grade

    Tana grew up in Norman and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BS in Secondary English Education.  Her Master’s in Reading Education is from Northeastern State University. She spent four years in the public schools teaching English for 8th through 12th grades and has enjoyed tutoring students of all ages as a Reading Specialist.  She and her husband, Matt, have three children who attend South Campus. She enjoys traveling with her family, running, and snuggling up with a cup of coffee and a good book.

    Allison is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University where she earned a BA in history and anthropology and plans to pursue higher education in the future. She enjoys gardening, good coffee, and a well-placed Lord of the Rings reference.

  • holly smedstad, north campus blended 2nd grade

    Holly is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Anthropology.  She has worked with children in a variety of school-related roles over the last several years. She and her husband Chris live in Edmond and have two daughters, both of whom attend The Academy. In her spare time, Holly loves to travel, hike and spend time with family.

    Marissa graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with a BA in Music Education. She has worked with children for several years at Christian Bible Camps and day camps for children of all ages. She is very excited to be apart of the academy this school year. She and her husband Sean live in Oklahoma City and enjoy drinking coffee, going to musicals and traveling.

    Allison is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma where she earned her BA in Psychology. She and her husband stay busy with their four children. She enjoys the outdoors, reading, gardening, and traveling.

    Cindy is a graduate of OSU earning a BS and MS degree in Economics. Cindy and her husband, Mike, have three children, a boy who is a senior at Edmond Santa Fe High School, a daughter who is Sophomore at The Academy, and a 7th grade boy who is homeschooled. Cindy loves kids and spending time with her family who lives in Edmond.

    Zereta graduated from MACU with a BS in Christian Ministries. Previously, she served five years in the United States Navy as a Seabee where she met her husband, John. After their enlistments, they moved to Chicago and were involved in Church-planting. Relocating to Blanchard in 2012, they are currently building a home there. They have two daughters: one who attends Central campus and the other North blended model.

  • Alison Thompson, South Campus Traditional 4th/5th grade

    A graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College with a BA in Music and English and teaching certification from the University of Oklahoma, Alison loves to hike, camp, and swim with her husband and four children.

  • missy wagner, nORTH CAMPUS traditional 3Rd grade

    Missy graduated from Geneva College in Pennsylvania with a BS in Elementary Education. She taught four years at a Christian school in Enid, Oklahoma before moving to Oklahoma City.

  • abbie wickersham, SOUTH CAMPUS  blended 5th grade

    Abbie earned her degree in Elementary Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She has taught third and fourth grade at Veritas Classical Academy and Kindergarten at El Reno Public Schools. She and her husband, Jody, live in Newcastle with their five children, two cats, and dog. She enjoys jogging, doodling, journaling, good coffee, and spending time with her family and friends.

    Jesse Wyatt graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Classics.  In his off time he takes care of an elderly dog, reads, and does various Martial Art related activities.
