Shawn Rhea, Dialectic boys BASKETBALL COACH


Shawn graduated from Wynnewood Public Schools where he played basketball for 6 years.  He went on to receive an Associates of Arts degree from Central Baptist College in Conway, AR and a Bachelors degree in Organizational Leadership from UCO.  Following college, he completed his alternative teaching certification and began teaching PE. He is now a Kindergarten teacher in Oklahoma City.  Shawn has coached many Upward basketball teams ranging in age from 4 years to 8th grade. He is married and has three children, the oldest of which is a second grader at The Academy. 

Andrew Johnson, dialectic boys BASKETBALL ASSISTANT COACH

Andrew is a graduate from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a degree in Sports and Facility Management.  Andrew competed in basketball, track and cross-country throughout high school, winning a State Championship and All-State recognition along the way. He holds the Air Force Basic Training record for the 5k, and he still enjoys running and playing basketball with his friends and family as he can. Andrew is married with three children and owns and operates a retail consulting company based in Oklahoma City.

Jody Wickersham, dialectic girls head basketball coach

Jody graduated from Newcastle High School where he played varsity basketball. In his Senior year he earned an honorable mention on The Oklahoman’s All-State and Little All-City 4A teams and also received three All-Star game invitations. Jody went on to graduate from the University of Oklahoma in 2000 with a BA in Journalism and Broadcasting. Since then he has worked professionally as a video producer. He and his family have been involved with The Academy for many years. HIs wife, Abbie, teaches 5th grade and all five of their children attend the school.
