The Classical art program at The Academy of Classical Christian
Studies begins with PreK students and builds with each grade. While
students are taught the Elements of Art and Principles of Design, our
program emphasizes drawing skills, a skill that requires the student be
taught how to "look" at the Created world around them and how to
translate that world using various media.
The
program pulls from history, literature, and scripture at various points
in the curriculum. Classical art, a centuries-old method of teaching
art, parallels with the Trivium as certain skills follow the development
of the child.
The Dialectic student begins to delve deeper as they become more aware of their own abilities while the Rhetoric student has the opportunities to manifest and push their own artistry.
