Message from Coach MAC
Technology and its use have been front and center in our household the past few weeks as we continue navigating parenting during the “COVID-19 Pandemic” phase of the Digital Age. It is tough to balance tech use when your kids live on their devices because of school as well. Just last night I sent my daughter a link to a Tweet about basketball, and in the same message I told her she needed to bring her phone down to plug in for the night because it was past 9pm. Her response: “sorry dad, can I have 5 more minutes? I’m listening to the end of my homework assignment.” Tech (and parenting) fatigue is real! But it also can be a blessing. Thanks to our marvelous IT Director, Eric Williams, we have the ability to Livestream our home games, just like we are doing for our Fine Arts and other school activities! This has allowed us to drastically limit capacity at our games while continuing our programs. At The ACADEMY, athletics are essential to the Christian, classical curriculum as part of the full expression of all that is True, Good, and Beautiful. By limiting fans and livestreaming the events our students can continue in our vision of human flourishing – mind, body, and spirit. Go Griffins Go!
