Notes from the North Campus – 1.22.21

From your north campus principal, Ann Taylor

It was only a four-day week, but the days seemed very full of life and learning on the north campus. We are starting to work on various grammar festivals and speech meet as well as dialectic projects and drama production. Remember that reenrollment will close the end of this next week. Some sections are already developing waiting lists which is great but challenging. Thank you to everyone for your support of staff and families during this season of covid, cold weather, and some dreary weather days. We appreciate each of you so much!

NOTES:

  • Feasts – all postponed until after spring break
  • Festivals for grammar will function like Durin’s Day in December – teachers will let you know the details (Zoom and some live components may be possible)
  • Speech Meet finals – possibly live stream and/or recorded for viewing later – waiting to see

Calendar events for this coming week:

  • January 25 Chapel (formal uniform)
  • January 25 and 26 Class Pictures and retakes – your teacher will let you know which day your student’s class will be having pictures taken
  • January 27 Kindergarten Around the World Festival Bach & Traditional K A
  • January 28 Kindergarten Around the World Festival Mozart & Traditional K B
  • January 29 Dialectic Spirit Day
  • January 29 Knitting & Crocheting after school Fifth Grade ONLY
  • January 31 Re-enrollment Closes
  • IF a student is absent for any reason (or a class is in quarantine), we will do class pictures (for the whole class out) and individual retakes of students for those needing it on Monday, February 22nd. If they are in Mozart cohort, they will have to come to campus in formal uniform at a designated time.

Keeping our campus healthy: Reminder and a thanks to all of you for your partnership with The Academy in helping make it the safest possible from all germs during this winter season by taking your student(s) temperature prior to coming to school. If they are exhibiting any signs of illness, error on the side of caution for the community’s health.

Have a great weekend – keep safe and healthy!!
