From your midtown campus principal, Rhonda Jones
I wish I could say we’ve had a great week at the Midtown Campus, but I haven’t seen your students! I will say that I was incredibly impressed with our staff when they learned of our plan to move to virtual learning for Thursday & Friday. Our Rhetoric Teachers immediately began making plans and adjusting for the unexpected week. Speaking of the staff, I want to update you on our 2021-22 projections. I’m pleased to announce that I hired a new Science faculty member. Mr. Colin Creech comes to us with two Masters degrees, a B.S., and a B.A. degree. He is a learner to the core and is passionate about teaching. He will teach 3 sections of Earth Science, Chemistry, and Physics. I spent most of today interviewing two very qualified Humanities candidates. Once we hire this position, our core curriculum classes will be covered. I’m looking for a part time Latin teacher and a part time Music teacher. Send referrals my way! We have a very strong staff team, and it is a huge priority to me to hire staff who compliment the strength our team already exhibits.
A Few Logistics
1. Coffee Truck At Midtown – If we plan, it will come….just not when we plan! Once again, we will divert to next week. Most likely on Thursday or Friday. Jamie Howell will confirm the date and I will announce the new date to students.
2. Summer Prefect Retreat – If your student holds a role in House Leadership, or joins House Leadership later this semester, please mark your calendars! Our summer leadership training and team building retreat will be June 28th- 30th.
3. Brigid Non-Uniform Day – On Thursday March 4th Brigid will have a non-uniform day. Brigid won the “Night to Unite” House competition in October. We’ve never followed through on their reward, which was a non-uniform day.
