Parents, this is a VERY special weekend in the life of the Rhetoric School and The Academy. On Saturday April 10th we will have two teams competing in the National Ethics Bowl Competition! This year our Forensics team swept the regional competition, with four Academy Ethics Bowl teams taking 1st through 4th place. This was a monumental win, because to my knowledge no OK team has ever debunked the OSSM team from their long-time reigning first place domination. On the National level, no Oklahoma team has ever placed 1st through 8th place in the natl. competition. Please pray for our students as they continue to prep, practice, then perform this Saturday. We will be incredibly proud of them regardless of the competition outcome……and we are hoping for a fun outcome with a title! This Forensics program is led by Mrs. Jennifer Stall. She does an amazing job training, leading, and mentoring our students as they tackle tough, global topics, then compete with grace and excellence. Keep Mrs. Stall and the students in your thoughts and prayers this weekend.

A Few Logistics

1. Summer Prefect Retreat – If your student holds a role in House Leadership, or joins House Leadership later this semester, please mark your calendars! Our summer leadership training and team building retreat will be June 28th- 30th. We will announce 2021-22 House Leader by April 15th.

2. SAT / ACT Testing Day April 13th – If your students is testing on April 13th, please watch for informational emails from Mrs. Vishanoff, our school Registrar. She will cover scheduling (when classes will begin for them after testing) and testing details.

3. April 28th Griffin Games – Students will need to bring a sack lunch, which they will take with them to All Souls Episcopal Church and eat on the grounds prior to the afternoon events. There will be no access to microwaves, etc.

4. Arsenic & Old Lace – Today I watched a bit of rehearsal for this play, which will debut the weekend of May 7th & 8th. You should not miss it! You will laugh and it will be a fun night out. We will be opening the audience up for Rhetoric students, District Staff (and families), and all Rhetoric families. Ticket sale information should be coming out soon, so watch your emails.
