Notes from the North Campus (Dialectic) – 4.23.21

A few notes for your calendar:

• Our Eighth Grade Sendoff is on May 14th. This year we will be doing things a little differently than years past. The eighth grade sendoff is not a graduation, rather, it is a collegial celebration of the student body to honor our eighth graders. Therefore, for the first part of this event we will be allowing the dialect student body to feast together, give toasts and reflect on the treasured memories they have made. This portion of the event will be just for students and teachers. It’s going to be a lot of fun! We will follow this feast with a brief reception for our 8th grade parents to attend. During this time we will serve dessert, watch a slide show and have an opportunity to get a picture taken at the photo booth! This should be a fun time to mingle and visit with other parents and the eighth grade class. The Feast will run from 11:30-12:15 and the Reception will be in the Chapel from 12:15-12:30.
• We are collecting photos of our 8th grade class. If you have any photos of your child or the class please send them to abradford@theacademyok.org
• House leader selection is now open for the 2021 school year. If your child would like to be considered for house leadership they need to bring home a slip to sign and drop it into the house cup. Deadline is May 1st.
• Griffin games is on Wednesday, April 28th. We will dismiss at 11:00 for parents to drive their students over to All Souls Episcopal Church for lunch. Students need to bring their own picnic lunch. Wear house colors and PE type attire. Color chalk and non-permanent hair paint is welcome! Don’t forget sunscreen!
