Good Afternoon Academy Family and Friends,
As we reach the final week of the school year, the one that so many have been longing for, we will pray that each of our Academy families has a safe, wonder-filled summer. May you allow yourself to slow down and lean into God and enjoy this precious time with your family. You are treasured and we will look forward to our next day together in August!
Capstone
We are pleased to announce the public release of this year’s Senior Capstones, which are now available for download on the Academy podcast. These presentations are the culmination of each student’s Classical Christian education, the beautiful presentation of truth for the good of the community. Each project was an individually chosen and faculty-directed exploration aimed toward participation in the Great Conversation. Each is worthy of your attention, and we commend them all both proudly and heartily.
You can find our Capstone recordings on our podcast channel. This channel is also available through Spotify, Amazon, and Google Play Store by searching for “The Academy Podcast.” Click here for a synopsis of each student’s presentation.
Athletics
TENNIS
The Academy’s first season of Tennis was a success! With over 70 5th-10th graders participating in two locations, the excitement for the sport is strong! The season finished with a fun Tennis mixer where parents were able to see the skills the players are developing while the players competed in doubles matches. The Tennis program will continue during the 2022-23 school year, adding in competition opportunities for our athletes. A huge thank you to Chris and Holly Corbin, Derek and Amanda Deshotels, Jill Judd, and Dan and Annie Morris for coaching and encouraging all of our players! The future of ACADEMY Tennis is bright!
GRAMMAR VOLLEYBALL
Our Grammar Volleyball season came to a close this Saturday with an all-day tournament at our Midtown gym. Coach Jensik and our parent leads did a great job inspiring Volleyball spirit in the girls. A big thanks to our Dialectic and Rhetoric VB players for coaching all 100 3rd-6th grade girls! Congrats to the Jams and Sparkling Spikers for winning the gold and silver brackets, respectively.
