College Ethics Bowl High Score
Last week, The Academy was invited to compete in the Oklahoma Statewide College Ethics Bowl — one of the university teams had to drop-out at the last minute, and as the reigning High School Ethics Bowl State Champions, The Academy was asked to fill in. Over the weekend, 5 Rhetoric Forensics students (Jack Miller, Jackson Clark, Kate Cheng, Maura Koehler, and Charlie Peterson) traveled to Broken Arrow to represent The Academy in the College Bowl, along with the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma Christian University, Oklahoma City University, Southern Nazarene University, and Northeastern State University. Despite having only had 4 days to review 9 cases and prepare presentations for each one (the university teams began practicing early September), The Academy finished with 446 points — the highest score of any other team in the competition — and a 3rd place ranking among the colleges statewide, falling just beneath Oklahoma Christian’s 2 Ethics Bowl teams. We are unbelievably proud of these 5 students who represented The Academy so well and look forward to supporting them in the Oklahoma High School Ethics Bowl in February!

There will be a Blended Encouragement Time at North campus on both Tuesday, Oct. 25, and Wednesday, Oct. 26 after Matins. This is a time for blended model parents, both new and veterans, to have fellowship, talk about what is working for them, what they are struggling with, get blended day tips and tricks to help with their days, encourage one another, and get to know more of their blended model community members.
