Dr. Amy Allen

Director of Educational Development

Dr. Amy Allen has a PhD in Education from the University of Oklahoma, where she is also an instructor, as well as a BSE in Elementary Education and an MS in Education Technology.  She loves to travel and hopes, one day, to visit every continent.

Lindy Beswick

Admissions Coordinator
Lindy earned her bachelor’s degree in English from East Central University and her master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario.  She lives in Norman with her husband and their two children. 

Sheri Boughman

Business Office Coordinator
Sheri earned a B.S. in Education from Kent State University with a Comprehensive Social Studies major.  She enjoys reading, crossword puzzles,  and sudoku.  She and her husband love hosting their children and 13 grandchildren.

Lori Clark

Financial Controller

Lori graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Accounting and from California State University (Fullerton) with an MS in taxation. Lori and her husband, Rod, moved to Norman in 2011. They have four children, two of which are at The Academy and two have graduated.

Keila Dawson

Director of Fine Arts

Keila Dawson is the Fine Arts Director for all three campuses at The Academy. She also teaches Drama and Oral Presentation at the South Campus. Keila has a degree in Drama from the University of Arkansas. She and her husband are foster parents and they enjoy coffee and food and spending time with the little ones in their home. 

Katie Gust, BSN, R.N.

District Nurse

Katie Gust serves all campuses as the District School Nurse. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Oklahoma. Before joining the Academy family, she worked in the ICU for 8 years. She loves to spend time with her husband, daughter Emmy, and 2 puppies at home or going on adventures around Oklahoma in their pop-up camper. 

Jana High

Business Office Assistant

Jana is the business office assistant, providing support for the Accounting Department and the HR Director. She has an accounting degree from UCO and has worked as a teacher, accountant, software consultant, and most recently as a classically homeschooling mom for 17 years. Jana is a mother of 4 and along with her husband Russ loves watching Griffins basketball.

Jamie Howell

Culture and Events Manager
Having been part of The Academy as a parent long before she became a staff member, Jamie loves that her role lets her engage with the community and share in the mission and vision of The Academy even more. Jamie has lived in Oklahoma all her life and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. 

Cristina Hughes

Admissions Director
Cristina Hughes graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, minors in English and Agricultural Communications. She received a master of Science in Agricultural Communications from Oklahoma State University in 2012. Spent 10 years in Children’s Ministry as a Children’s Ministry Director. Lastly, has two boys, James and Gus, both at The Academy.

Rhonda Jones

Director of District Education & Accommodations

In addition to serving as our Midtown principal, Rhonda also serves as the Accommodations Director.  Rhonda has been working with students in educationally developmental roles since 1998. 

Kristin Mannschreck

Chief of Staff
Originally from Edmond, Kristin graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Secondary Math Education and a minor in Spanish language. She was a member of the Chi Omega women’s fraternity.

Alita Richter

Director of Human Resources

Alita has enjoyed a rich career in Church Management and recently completed the Christian Non-Profit Leadership Credential program through Azusa Pacific University. Alita and her husband, Jim, live in Edmond and have five grandchildren, three of whom attend The Academy.

Josh Spears

Lyceum Director

Serving for roughly 179 months at the Academy teaching, Josh Spears has taught all manner of subjects, mostly in the biblical, theological and philosophical world after spending the usual amount of months earning a bachelor of arts in Theology from Randall University and a master of arts in philosophy from the University of Oklahoma.  In his free time he likes to write website bios, take naps, yell at/because of football games, spend time with one wife/four children, read, watch Netflix, think about climbing fourteeners and steadfastly avoid Oxford commas.

Tana Schuermann

Accommodations Coordinator
Tana Schuermann enjoys working with students, teachers, and parents as the Accommodations Coordinator. After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Secondary English Education, she went on to complete her Master of Education in Reading at Northeastern State University. Tana enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and cheering on her three children in their sports and activities.

Sadye Smothers

Communications Coordinator

Sadye is the district Communications Coordinator. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies from Oklahoma Baptist University.  Sadye is from Cambodia,  has lived in seven countries, and is fluent in Turkish.  Her diverse life story created in her a love and appreciation for people and cultures all around the world.
