Lindsay Berryhill

North Campus Grammar Principal

Lindsay holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Liberal Arts from The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. She is passionate about foster care, adoption, and sharing her testimony of God’s faithfulness in the valleys of life. An avid reader of children’s literature, she finds joy and inspiration in Mrs. Piggle Wiggle and Junie B. Jones. Her lifelong mission is to preserve the joys of childhood.

Jake Schulte

North Campus Dialectic Principal
Jake earned his Bachelor’s degree in Bible from Ozark Christian College and a Masters in Classical Christian Studies from Knox Theological Seminary. When he’s not teaching or reading he likes to spend time with his wife and kids outdoors.

Blended PreK Teacher

Kayla Batson graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Kayla and her husband have two young children. She enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family. 

Natalee Creech

Traditional PreK Teacher

Natalee Creech is excited to put her Early Childhood Education knowledge into practice as a Traditional PK teacher. She holds a B.S in Education from Milligan College and has taught in the U.S., Canada, and South Korea. She is almost always reading a book, writing a book, or thinking about books she wants to read or write. 

Laura DeSpain

Blended PreK Teacher

Laura is a graduate of Abilene Christian University where she earned a BS in Psychology.  Laura and her husband, Trent, have three children who attend The Academy. 

Gaylee Koehler

Traditional 1st Grade Teacher
Gaylee earned her BA in Special Education from Western Washington University and is also certified in Early Childhood Education. She has over 20 years of experience in the classroom. She loves traveling, music and time spent with family and friends.

Hannah Burke

Traditional Kindergarten Teacher

Hannah Burke teaches Traditional Kindergarten at the North Campus. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from The University of Oklahoma in 2016. Hannah has taught Kindergarten the last five years with Edmond Public Schools. Her favorite place to vacation is Telluride, Colorado.

Allison Stephens

Blended Kindergarten Teacher

Allison is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma where she earned her BA in Psychology. She and her husband stay busy with their four children. She enjoys the outdoors, reading, gardening, and traveling.

Addy Kate Hlad

Traditional 1st Teacher

Addy Kate is a Traditional First Grade Teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English at Oklahoma State University. She loves to travel and explore new places, but home (with a good book) is her absolute favorite place to be! 

Melissa Dutton

Blended 1st Teacher

Melissa Dutton will be teaching 1st grade blended M/W. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Cameron University and has 8 years of teaching experience in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade. Melissa has a twin sister that lives in Australia and she and her family have had the privilege of visiting her there.

Holly Smedsted

Traditional 2nd Teacher

Holly is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Anthropology.  In her spare time, Holly loves to travel, hike and spend time with family.

Hillary Glaze

Traditional 2nd Teacher

Hillary Glaze is a 2nd Grade Traditional teacher. Hillary earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a minor in Humanities from Northeastern State University. Hillary loves to read, eat amazing food, travel with her husband and three children, and spends most of her travel time hiking and skiing in Taos, New Mexico. 

Katy Geist

2nd Blended Teacher

Mrs. Geist is the 2nd grade Bach teacher at the North campus. Mrs. Geist went to Oklahoma Baptist University where she earned a degree in elementary education; prior to teaching at the Academy she taught 5th grade in Edmond Public Schools. While she is not teaching, Mrs. Geist enjoys spending time with her family.

Emily Mayfield

2nd Blended Teacher (Mozart)

Emily Mayfield is the 2nd grade Mozart teacher. She is a certified teacher with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. Emily has served in children’s ministry for the last 7 years. She loves to spend time with her family, read mysteries, bake, and crochet. 

Kim Forgue

Blended 3rd Teacher

Kim graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in Community Health and Sociology. She and her husband Micah live in Mustang and have one son who attends the south blended campus of The Academy.

Shelley Spearman

Traditional 3rd Grade Teacher
Shelley received her undergraduate and masters degrees in Early Childhood Education from Southern Nazarene University and has over 18 years of teaching experience. Shelley enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, as well as traveling, running, and continuing to learn.

Lori Bailey

Traditional 3rd Grade Teacher

Lori Bailey holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and has taught for many years in third, fourth and sixth grades in Piedmont and Deer Creek public schools. She currently teaches in a fourth-grade traditional classroom at the Academy, where her favorite subject is literature. She loves to spend time with her family, travel, read, garden, and decorate and stage homes.

Steva Finch

Blended 4th Grade (Mozart & Bach)

Steva Finch is the 4th Grade Blended Bach and Mozart Teacher. She graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends. 

Stephanie Bryan

Traditional 4th Teacher

Stephanie graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in elementary education and earned her masters from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  She has 10 years of teaching experience. Stephanie loves reading and is always adding to her home and classroom libraries; you should come visit the books if you are ever at north campus!

Stephanie Wintz

Traditional 5th Teacher

Stephanie Wintz is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma where she earned her degree in Family Life Education. She enjoys helping students connect biblical truths with their everyday lives. In her down time, Stephanie enjoys outdoor adventures with her family.

Jennifer earned her bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Baylor University. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys reading and gardening.

Julianne Davis

Blended 5th Teacher (Bach)

Julianne Davis is the 5th grade Bach teacher at the North campus. She is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in Elementary Education. Before teaching at the Academy she taught first grade in the Putnam City School district. Julianne and her husband enjoy camping, traveling and playing sports with their four children.  

Toni Barnes

Music

Toni earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Oklahoma and her Kodaly Level 1 certification from New St. Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho. In addition to teaching grammar music, she assists with the dialectic choir. Toni enjoys watching College Football and cheering for the Sooners!

Leslee Howze

Grammar Music

Leslee Howze will be teaching grammar music. She holds a bachelor of vocal music education from Oklahoma Baptist University and is Kodaly certified. Leslee enjoys crafting, quilting and doing machine embroidery. 

Mary Beth Beck

Art

Mary Beth graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a BFA in 3D Art. Her two daughters are the light of her life. Mary Beth enjoys visiting the lake, reading and creating all kinds of art. 

Sarah Epps

Latin

 Sarah received her BA from Baylor University where she double-majored in Museum Studies and History and minored in Classics; her MA in Public History is from the University of South Carolina. If Sarah were a dragon, her hoard would be full of books and craft supplies.

Jennifer Stanczyk

Latin

Jennifer graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a BA in Humanities.  She enjoys crocheting, hiking, strategy board games, and spending time with her family.  

Ashley Hensley

Ashley graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma where she majored in Fine Arts and minored in Russian History. She enjoys nature, caring for her vegetable garden, and spending time with her husband and two children.

Peter Blankenship

Math

Peter Blankenship teaches Dialectic mathematics. He started his undergraduate studies in Imaging Science at Rochester Institute of Technology but after 2 years felt God’s leading in another direction and transferred to Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies with a mathematics minor and went on to complete a Master’s in Biblical History and Geography and a Master’s of Divinity.  He is passionate about showing students how Mathematics speaks to us about God and His world, and he loves time with family, woodworking, reading, and being outdoors.

Anne Bradford

Latin (Language Chair)
Anne earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Southern Methodist University. In her free time, Anne loves to read and knit and spend time with her husband and 8 amazing children.

Mark Bradford

Theology & Bible

Mark Bradford teaches one class of eight grade New Testament at the North Campus. He received a Master of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary  and has served as a pastor for thirty-four years. One of his hobbies is quilting.

Charity Chan

Charity graduated with a BA in Speech Communications. She has been blessed to spend time working with children overseas and is excited to continue working with the young scholars of The Academy.

Clara Wellington

Practicum/Omni

Clara Wellington is joining the Academy team to teach one section of 6th Grade Omnibus and Practicum. This will be her 5th year teaching in classical schools! Clara holds an M.A. in Theology from Ave Maria University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Education from the University of Oklahoma. Though she is not an Oklahoma native, her husband is, and she very much enjoys living in such a friendly state! 

Suzanne Morrison

Choir

Mrs. Morrison graduated Cum Laude from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelors in Vocal Music Education and is an Oklahoma PK-12 Certified Vocal & General Music Educator.  She is entering her 20th year of teaching and has taught all grades PK-12 General Music, Choir, Voice, Piano, Music Theory, & Ukulele in both the United States and China.

 

Blake Randolph

Theology & Bible/ Practicum

Blake Randolph teaches Dialectic Bible and Theology. He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a B.A., double majoring in Biblical Studies and Philosophy. Blake has been married to his wife, Grace, since 2020 and is an avid reader and collector of books. 

Tyler Smothers

Practicum/Omni

Tyler teaches 7th grade Omnibus and Practicum. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Oklahoma Baptist University in May 2021, and he is a particularly interested in Medieval English literature and history. Tyler has a cat named Toby who makes frequent appearances in class handouts and slideshows. 

Avery Stevens

Drama & Oral Presentation

Avery Stevens teaches North Dialectic and Rhetoric Drama, North Oral Presentation, and Rhetoric Oklahoma History. She has a bachelor’s degree in Theatre and Anthropology from Oklahoma Baptist University. Avery is a native Okie and loves her home state. She enjoys frequenting all of the local restaurants, road trips, collecting plants, and getting emotional while watching live theatre. 

 

Jesse Ingram

Practicum/Omni

Jesse Ingram teaches Dialectic Humanities to 8th graders at the North Campus.  He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and has a deep love of finding God’s truth in stories.   Along with teaching, Jesse owns a coffee and plant shop with his wife in Shawnee.

Hilary Clark

North Culture and Events Coordinator

Hilary Clark serves as a part of the Culture and Events team at the North Campus. She was brought into the wonderful world of Classical Education through homeschooling and loves that the journey has brought her family to The Academy. Hilary enjoys making costumes on a time crunch, voraciously reading the classics, and forcing her children to memorize the botanical names of plants.  

Lori Collins

North Admissions Coordinator

Lori is excited to serve as a Teacher’s Assistant for The Academy’s Pre K classes. She enjoys hiking and being outdoors with her family. Lori and her Husband, Stephen, have two children who attend The Academy.

Brendan King

North Athletic Coordinator

Brendan is a senior Sports Management major at Oklahoma Christian University.  The Grandbury TX native was a member of the OC Junior Varsity Basketball team and also serves as a coach at Solid Rock Basketball in Edmond.

Malarie Cummins

PreK Aide

Malarie Cummins is excited to serve as a Pre-K Teacher’s Aide. She has spent the past three years working as a substitute and Pre-K 3 teacher at Warm World Preschool and Starbright Nursery at the Church of the Servant. Malarie and her husband have a daughter who attends The Academy. She enjoys reading, music, and spending time with her family.
