Nathan Carr
Headmaster
The Headmaster leads The Academy by casting and safeguarding its vision, and shaping and developing The Academy’s culture, staff, and curricular offerings. Mr. Carr began serving at Providence Hall in 2006, teaching secondary school math and science, functioning as Upper School Development Director and then Provost before becoming Headmaster for The Academy. He is married to Sarah, and they have six children. Mr. Carr’s introduction to and subsequent love of great books occurred in the Western Civ classroom at Oklahoma Baptist University. After graduation from the University of Central Oklahoma, Nathan enrolled at Reformed Theological Seminary and earned a Masters of Arts in Religion. He has also completed post-graduate work at the University of Toronto’s Wycliffe College, is an ordained priest in the Episcopal Church, St. John’s of Oklahoma City.
Stephen Taylor
Assistant Headmaster
Mr. Taylor joined The Academy team in 2019, and has served in a variety of teaching and administrative roles for over 15 years. He earned his B.A. at Gordon College, his M.Ed. from Lesley University, and was first introduced to classical Christian schools while studying Renaissance Art in Orvieto, Italy. In addition to his passion for Christian education, he serves on the board of directors for Tyndale House Foundation and the Alumni Advisory Council at Gordon College. He and his wife Emily have three children, Ellena, Corin, and Magdalene, and love spending time as a family, exploring the outdoors, reading, and playing games.
The Assistant Headmaster serves as the Chief Operating Officer, marshaling resources in support of the daily and long-term needs of The Academy. The COO sets and achieves annual goals and priorities in accordance with the organization’s strategic plan and in alignment with Board priorities. The COO ensures competing strategic priorities are well-balanced to optimize mission support and delivery.
Dhante Aguirre
Latin
Dhante Aguirre works as a Latin instructor for grades 5-8th at the South Campus. He has taught Religious Education in his home parish, St. Thomas More, and studied Latin as an elective while at OU. Dhante enjoys drawing, writing, and taking care of his pet fish in his spare time.

Jennifer received a BA from Baylor University and an MSt in Medieval Studies from the University of Oxford. She also served as Curator of Medieval Manuscripts for a private collection in Oklahoma City for several years. Jennifer can often be found singing in the choir at All Souls’ Episcopal Church or curled up with a warm cup of tea and a good book.

After graduating from high school, I attended a Bible institute where I heard the gospel. Accepting Christ as my Savior has been the most blessed experience of my life. Reading, jogging, and teaching Sunday School are a few of my interests.
Olivia Bates
Math
Olivia Bates serves as the Chair of the Math Department and teaches Rhetoric level math classes. She received a BA in Secondary Math Education and an MS in Mathematics. In her free time, Olivia likes to garden, travel, and visit local coffee shops.
Kayla Batson
PreK3 Teacher (Mozart)
Kayla Batson graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Kayla and her husband have two young children. She enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family.
Bryan Becker
Theology
Bryan Becker teaches the sophomore theology course, Systems of Thought, as well as freshman and sophomore Practicum classes. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and Theology from Wheaton College in 2022. Bryan’s long-term goal is to move overseas with his wife and plant churches among the unreached.
